Raytheon Australia launches security solutions business

Raytheon Australia’s newest business unit, Raytheon Australia Security Solutions, was officially opened last week by Lynn Dugle, vice president, Raytheon Company and president, Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS).

The opening of Raytheon Australia Security Solutions, which follows the acquisition of business assets previously owned by Compucat Research Pty Ltd, positions the company to address the emerging information security and cybersecurity markets in the region.

Michael Ward, managing director of Raytheon Australia, praised the workforce of Security Solutions, saying: “In these talented men and women lie the seeds for Raytheon Australia’s success in the growing information security and cybersecurity markets. Right here in Canberra, Raytheon Australia is creating cybersecurity products for export that are contributing to the company’s global intelligence capabilities.”

Mr Ward said that with reachback to the global resources of Raytheon Company, Raytheon Australia is now endowed with the capacity, knowledge and experience to tackle these emerging markets and to act as a portal for the company’s broad range of information security and cybersecurity activities.

Raytheon Australia Security Solutions is poised to deliver innovative solutions for Defence and the Australian Intelligence Community across five specific markets: cybersecurity; information and communications technology; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; intelligence operations support and geospatial intelligence solutions.

“Raytheon has had years of experience in successfully protecting our global customers’ critical information and infrastructures from the most complex threats. Through our mission systems integration pedigree and technological leadership Raytheon Australia will earn its place as a trusted partner in proven security solutions,” Mr Ward said.
