Held in association with the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), the Security 2010 Conference will feature a line-up of international thought leaders from areas such as transport, policing, criminology, intelligence and security management.

The Security 2010 Conference will also include two specialist Executive Briefing sessions, both featuring Professor Martin Gill, Professor of Criminology and Director of Perpetuity Research and Consultancy.

The Security Strategy and Management briefing will be held on Monday August 30 and Understanding Crime and Crime Prevention on Tuesday August 31.

7th Annual Port & Maritime Security 2010

DATE: 14-15 September 2010

The 2010 conference will address vital issues relating to national security, including enhanced co-ordination both nationally and internationally and the development of technology used in modern maritime security initiatives. 2010 National Identity Crime Symposium

The Fraud and Corporate Crime Group, State Crime Operations Command, Queensland Police Service are hosting the 2010 National Identity Crime Symposium. Identity crime has been extensively reported as the fastest-growing crime type globally, costing the Australian economy somewhere between $1.6 billion and $3 billion per annum. The theme of the symposium is Identity Crime and the Hi Tech World. An array of knowledgeable and skilled international and national presenters will explore this theme and provide incredible insights into the extent of this problem and how to combat it. The conference will deliver topics across on three broad strains: Identity Crime and Commercial Industry, Identity Crime Victimology, and the emergence and potential of cyber warfare and intellectual property theft.

2010 CEPS International Conference

The second CEPS International Conference will be held at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra from 7-8 October 2010. The theme for the 2010 conference is 'The Nexus between Policing and Security'. The Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS) was established by the ARC in 2007 to boost policing and security research capacity in Australia amid the growing complexity and internationalisation of transnational crime in the post-9/11 environment. CEPS is administered by Griffith University in Brisbane and operates across four University Nodes (Griffith University, The Australian National University, Charles Sturt University and The University of Queensland).
