Sanyo has launched a range of nine full-HD, full-frame-rate CCTV camera models in the fast-growing high-resolution network camera market.

The new range includes three CS mount types, three vandal-resistant dome types, a zoom type, and two PTZ types.

The nine models incorporate the newly developed Xacti HD-Pro advanced image processing engine, and five of the cameras have a twin engine system, equipped with a network-oriented engine, Optimum IP Pro. The series has video analytics and focus assist functions, and is compatible with dual codec, supporting both H.264 and the still image compression standard MJPEG. Twin engine models incorporate a multi-streaming function to enable simultaneous output and transmission of H.264 and MJPEG for up to four streams. This means that while low-resolution streams are in use for real-time surveillance of multiple sites through multiple cameras, the full-HD setting can be selected for the recording stream.

Features on selected models include: SD card recording; external hard disk drive recording; a cropping function allowing high-definition images to be displayed in a VGA-equivalent size; and digital PTZ functionality. Software is provided as a bundled item to automate the IP address setting process. Selected models feature a HDMI terminal for high-grade full-HD image transmission, a two-way voice function for dialogue, a 3D-DNR function to noise level, and PoE compatibility.

“Today’s launch of full HD surveillance cameras brings together Sanyo’s substantial digital camera technologies and manufacturing expertise,” Bill Crichton, President and Managing Director of Sanyo Oceania, said at the range’s Sydney launch. “The CCTV surveillance industry is in the middle of major changes, and new megapixel full-HD cameras have opened up a new level of protection for buildings and public spaces.”

Sanyo Oceania Surveillance and Multimedia Group Manager Peter Huljich said the cameras were at the leading edge of CCTV development.

“It’s a world first to have such a wide range of products, and it’s a world first to have a four megapixel engine incorporated into all these products.”
